The prompt for this project was to develop a library and collaborative learning space as well as an additional program that best served the community of South Miami. The project was designed with the consideration of the growing dependence on access to the Internet, as schools and jobs moved to online platforms. The library design features both individual and group learning spaces, book stacks, and computer resources. The design consists of two rectangular volumes that are intersected by a twisting geometry that houses the additional program of the fresh food market. The south end of the site will then include ancillary market space and act as a gathering place for the community.
